#LokSabhaElections2019: Gujarat Congress Website Hacked, Hardik Patel’s Picture from His Sex Tape Put

AHMEDABAD (Gujarat): Less than a week after Patidar quota agitation leader Hardik Patel joined the Congress party, hackers attacked the official website of the Gujarat Congress and uploaded his picture, which appears to be taken from his alleged sex video that surfaced during the 2017 Gujarat Assembly Elections.

In the photo, a person resembling Patel can be seen sitting on the bed with a girl and it is accompanied by a caption – “Welcome our new leader”.

Gujarat Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi said the website, “http://www.gujaratcongress.in”, was taken down immediately by the party’s IT team after spotting the ‘mischief’.

“Our website was hacked. Someone put a photo of Hardik Patel on it. We have shut down the website immediately. It will become online soon,” said Doshi, adding the party may file a police complaint.

“This might be the handiwork of those who did not like Hardik’s entry into the Congress,” he added.

Ahead of the December 2017 Assembly elections in Gujarat, around five videos, purportedly showing Patel with women, had surfaced on social media platforms.

The 25-year-old Patidar quota agitation spearhead had then claimed all the videos were “fake and morphed”.

The website is back online, though it has currently being marked unsafe by web browsers.

This comes after BJP’s official website, bjp.org was hacked earlier in March. No hacker groups had claimed any responsibility for the cyber attack.

The Screenshots of the homepage of the party site had appeared to show a meme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel.
