Defence Ministers of India and China will hold talks in New Delhi on Tuesday during which they are expected to take a decision on resuming the military exercises of their Armies stalled since 2010.
India and Tajikistan on Monday signed several agreements for enhancing cooperation in various areas as pacts were signed to widen cooperation in the sectors of health, education, industry, energy, labour, employment and culture. In a significant meet ahead of the NAM summit, India, Iran and Afghanistan held a trilateral during which the regional security and economic situation was discussed, including ways to commercially exploit the Chahbahar port, a major venture in the sanction- hit country. Neil Armstrong, the first person to set foot on the moon, passed away at the age of 82, on Saturday. Armstrong underwent a heart-bypass surgery earlier this month, just two days after his birthday on 5th August, to relieve blocked coronary arteries. The Pakistani Taliban has warned that it would use a team of bombers to target troops if an operation is launched against militants in the restive North Waziristan tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
